NAUGHTY BOY

2 versions exist.  In the Jaleco version, there’s no sound effect for coining up the game as there is in the Cinematronics version.  The round indicator at the bottom of the screen is different in both versions.  The Jaleco version shows a monster holding the flag with the round number on it (picture #1); the Cinematronics version has 2 flags with the round number between them (picture #2).  On round 1, the Jaleco version only has one opening in the first fence (picture #3); the Cinematronics version has 3 (picture #4).  The monsters and goblins also start moving faster on the Cinematronics version when they first appear.

Point-pressing trick: It’s possible to point-press on the second screen in both versions.  By creating a space in the wall at the top of the screen (pictures #3 and #4), you can sit and continually shoot enemies, quickly increasing their point value from 250 to 9,000 points.

On round 17, the safety zone timer resets to 90.

BUG: By using the point-pressing trick, once the enemy’s point value is at the maximum 9,000 points, after so many shots it will reset back to 250 and start increasing again.  {Scott Stilphen}

BUG: The points for hitting a monster during a bonus screen increase every time you reach that screen (for example, the first hit on the first bonus screen is worth 600 points; the first hit on the bonus screen after round 22 is worth 1,700 points).  Because of that, it’s possible to roll over the bonus points during the bonus level by hitting the monster too many times.  {Scott Stilphen}

BUG: The manual states there’s 50 difficulty levels.  After you complete round 25, the round counter resets back to 10.  {Scott Stilphen}
