DEMON ATTACK

2 versions exist.  The original version has a kill screen after completing 84 waves (the screen will go blank).

Pause trick – On boards 5 and later, keep shooting the center demon until only the top and bottom remain, then shoot the bottom one.  The top one will not come down to fire.  This is actually a bug in the program.  From Rob Fulop: “I think the class of demons in the top row don't ever transform into the class of demons that can dive - this was originally a bug and then later left as a feature for exactly the reason you state- to give experienced players a potty break.”

On boards 3 and 4, the demon’s laser fire can pass right through the middle gap in your ship (picture #1)!  {Scott Stilphen}

BUG: If you have 3 full demons, and two smaller demons (i.e. one that has been shot) on the screen, the full demon closest to the bottom may start to “blank out” or disappear slightly.  {Scott Stilphen}

BUG: Your fire will sometimes go right through a demon (picture #2). {Scott Stilphen}

BUG: Sometimes if you remain still and don’t fire, the bottom demon won’t move above you and instead will remain to one side of you.

BUG: It’s possible for falling demons to wrap-around the screen (video #1).  {Scott Stilphen}

BUG: A hit on one demon may instead register on another (video #2).  From Rob Fulop: “I was aware of the wrong demon sometimes exploding.  That bug crept in during the code crunch phase.  I think it had something to do with the horizontal speed of the demons at the time.  There was some rare conditions where the wrong demon was detected as "hit".  I think it depended on WHEN the code checked for collision and WHEN where demon states updated.  Moving code around at the end becomes too risky so I let it go. “

BUG: Shots from a “phantom” demon may occasionally appear (video #3).  {Scott Stilphen}

FRYING: You can get demons of different shapes and colors. {David Allen}
