Gyruss

2 versions exist! Parker Brothers originally agreed to have Roklan Corp do this port (pictures #1 and #2), but at the last minute decided not to use their version, instead having On-Time Software do it (pictures #3 and #4).  The screenshot used on the box is neither version, although it closely resembles the Roklan version (picture #5).

· The “GYRUSS” title screen graphics from the Roklan version were used for the released version.  Picture #6 is a composite of both screens.

A prototype version (dated 4-23-84) has different colors for the enemies on most of the stages.  What’s interesting is, most of the pirate copies floating around have the same differences, so the source of them is a prototype version and not the released version.

BUG: If the last enemy destroyed is one of the three ships/satellites that you kill to receive your double-shot power-up, sometimes you won’t warp to the next level.  The only way to warp is to let your ship be destroyed by a meteor.

BUG: A rare glitch may appear in which 1 or more ships will remain on the screen (after shooting them) and you’ll warp to the next stage.  If you pass through the ship(s) while warping, nothing will happen.

· BUG: After stage 99, the counter shows a combination of numbers, letters, and characters.  At state 257, the counter will reset back to 1.  {Paul Streifel}
