HAUNTED HOUSE

An extra object can be revealed when solving the game!  Get the urn, and go right against the exit wall (w/o ending the game).  Push up against the wall and drop the urn.  With a match lit, move DOWN+RIGHT, grabbing the urn and ending the game instantly.  Most times the urn will appear (picture #2), but occasionally a “staff” or “wand” will appear to the right of you (picture #1)!  It's unknown if this can be found during a game.  {Scott Stilphen}

Moving the RIGHT joystick creates another “footstep” sound in the house!  {Tony Roy}

If you drop an item while right next to the right of, or above a locked door, it will appear on the other side of the door.  {John Soper}

The position of the doors in game 9 is not provided in the manual – printing error or “clue”?  A map of level 9 can be found below (picture #5).

BUG: If you stand in one of the left or right stairwells (while using a match), half of the opposite stairwell will start to blink (picture #3).

BUG: By holding the FIRE button down when you lose your last life, you may see the match glow instead of your eyes (picture #4).  {Scott Stilphen}

BUGIn the manual, the map of the 3rd floor (pg. 9) is wrong. It shows 2 locked doors in the wrong locations for games #3-8 (circled in red – picture #6); they should be at the locations circled in yellow. {Scott Stilphen}

BUG: A typo in the code causes an incompatibility issue.  Reading a write-only register on most 2600s returns the last value on the bus, and the last value on the bus is the last byte in the opcode.  The programmer made a typo.  At $F44F, the game is subtracting using the value in $0f, instead of subtracting using the literal value $0f.  Since the last byte of the opcode is $0f, most 2600s will pull this value and wind up working as intended.  But on 1 out of 100 2600s, the "last value on the bus" result doesn't happen.  Same is true for emulators that don't similarly handle reads from write-only registers.  {Mike Saarna}

FRYING: Puts all the urn pieces on the 1st floor (any game variation). Also, fry until there are no walls and possibly an enemy walks by the screen.  Reset the game and there are no objects in any of the rooms (see video). {Scott Stilphen}
